    I agree. I am now further concerned my replaced steering gear could still have a QA issue, or that maybe something else is going on. Cory-- this is very concerning.

    I hope this problem does not continue into the 2013 models. BTW... in an earlier post of mine I noted that my "steering rack" was replaced--it was actually the "steering gear assembly"---not sure if that includes the steering rack. Anyone know ?

    I should clarify my last post: I only had one failure involving steering (Power Assist Fault)... before the repair. So it's difficult to really tell if the repair corrected the issue--except perhaps to wait and see over time.

    Steering rack was replaced in my 2011 Limited in August 2012. Diagnostic code generated. No wait for part. Seems to have corrected issue, but I only had one failure. NHTSB site has Ford's response to error: safercar.gov ... Click on Vehicle Owners tab, then select Defect Investigations...

    Hitch Comparison

    I have the Hidden Hitch, with Thule 4-bike carrier. Hitch fits well, exhausts not lowered at all (or at least not noticably). Would recommend.
