I have had my 1999 ford explorer sport for about a year now and I can't figure out why the temperature overhead display is show the wrong temperature. Could it be the gauge has gone bad? Any ideas can help me.

I have gone a year without checking what the problem could be or how to fix my temperature on the overhead monitor thing. any ideas?
