Looking to detune
I think you can tune it to have rev and speed limiters. I would call any local tuning shops and explain your situation and see if it's doable, or try and tune yourself. Personally, I think you should change it to be a little over the speed limits to make passing possible.- toobladink

Post pictures of your roof racks/awning
These guys? They're like rope tie downs or something. Or do you mean the bolts that hold in the tracks themselves? I did order some T bolts from amazon that I think will work/do the same thing. But glad to know you've done it with hardware I already (probably) have. Might just do the same. I'd...- toobladink

Post pictures of your roof racks/awning
no, i think the ones that come with the ironman awning are pretty thick and might be steel. how did you mount the crossbars? i found some T bolts online that I was going to use to mount a piece of aluminum and then mount crossbars on top of that, and then mount the awning- toobladink

Post pictures of your roof racks/awning
what did you end up going with for a mounting setup? i want the same exact awning lol. i was thinking about building a custom roof rack, but it's just so expensive and the 2nd gen crossbars are too curved imo to securely mount stuff. i know it comes with L brackets and I just want to drill holes...- toobladink

Getting the most out of what I have
haha yes I am. Ideally I get an extra wheel and mount it on the back - I still have the spare underneath. I just don't know if that's something I want to do, or even how I would do that without having to fab something myself. Then I could easily do a 5 tire rotation instead of 4 like I have been...- toobladink

Getting the most out of what I have
I will probably try it anyways. I've only found the rust reformer in the spray can and it's nice, but man the can gets messy. A brush would probably be faster, too.- toobladink

Getting the most out of what I have
Have you tried rustoleum before/can you compare? I think the rustoleum one is similar, it smells different than other spray paints and I've had to wear a respirator when applying, so I feel like some sort of similar bonding is happening lol. Also on those Falken tires, the LT ones are ten-ply...- toobladink

Getting the most out of what I have
Yeah the rust on the bumper just bothers me, especially because it’s gotten significantly worse since the winter. I’ve been using rustoleum rust reformer on the frame and anything steel wherever I can as I slowly work on things and expose them. Probably going to do the majority at some point in...- toobladink

Getting the most out of what I have
Man thank you guys for all the help. This weekend was the most amount of work, even though it was just a few things! I replace the bushings inside the frame that hold the shackles, replaced the shackles for a lil lift, and finally replaces the front sway bar links. I have decided on a new tire...- toobladink

Phew yeah, should have looked at that closer! I was just reading some old posts and just found that lol. Thanks for the help! I already have shackles, so I may look for a different kit for keys. Getting the most out of what I have
I see. Well, I am planning on adding some warrior shackles, which will give it about 1.5-2in of lift. I will also probably do a torsion twist. I can't help but ask since you mentioned it, but why are you using keys? Did you feel like it helped with your ride or was it just easy to get a...- toobladink

Getting the most out of what I have
Maybe I should make a new thread to ask this.. but I plan on moving to a 17x9 wheel with 0mm offset. I have the stock 16x7, and without measuring (just research), looks like they come with a 12mm offset. Is this right? I hate to ask such a silly question when I could go measure it myself, but...- toobladink

K&N Cold Air Intake - Check Engine Light
i had a similar issue on mine. does it make like a low hissing sound? is the intake noise pretty loud? took a couple things for me to fix it: one of the hose connections was loose, so i used a hose clamp where it connects. it only got loose after the car was warmed up. there was also this...- toobladink

does anyone know off the top of their head if i need to jack the car up to install front and rear sway bar links? looks like i don't need to take the tires off and seems like as long as i'm on level ground it'll be fine? been having to drive about an hour every time i go work on my car so if i...- toobladink

Getting the most out of what I have
FINALLY installed the front shocks. Just had time to rust treat the parts behind them. I'll have to come back and redo some of the areas I painted over since I got a little overspray action and didn't brush them as clean. So far, best thing I've done for my ride quality. The old shocks were so...- toobladink

Getting the most out of what I have
Honestly i dont really know - last time i topped it off, wasnt paying close attention and i overfilled it. I noticed most of it would spill out when i went “offroading” (driving on the nicest roads in my city) and it splashed out the top. So it could very well be low or high, i need to check!- toobladink

Shipping/processing the order for the sleeves has been taking a while... so I bought some of that engine cleaner spray I always see on the shelf and figured it's worth the try for $10. Yeah the 57-2528 should fit. It isn't obvious on the sit but you can scroll the "vehicle applications" and you can see it's in the list. Beginning of a beautiful journey, 2000 Explorer SOHC
yeah, i had a similar issue - i installed an intake kit and one of the hoses seemed to expand by quite a bit so after it warmed up it started leaking. every time i would restart my car after letting it warm up, it'd have a high idle and i'd get a check engine light. i'm surprised you don't have...- toobladink

Getting the most out of what I have
It's not that I'm concerned about going to the extent of replacing them, I will have to because I'm unable to install the lift shackles I bought and I will likely need to destroy (melt) them in order to get the existing ones off the frame. I might just re-use the sleeves, and I would be fine...- toobladink

How should I mount a custom roof basket?
I'd really like a custom roof basket as a way to mount an awning and a place to store extra camping equipment when I need it. How do you check for leaks? I was using some spray start and was just listening, is there a more reliable way to do that? I think it's likely I missed a spot to check. V6 SOHC straight pipe
From what I've seen/read, modifying cats hasn't really even been a priority in terms of exhaust. I think most people have tended to increase pipe size and swap out the muffler. Most people with V6s move from 2.25in to 2.5in, and those with V8s usually go to 3in from what I've seen. But please...- toobladink
