Best gauge setup for LMS tuner

Thanks for the kind words! There's not a complete list of gauges and all their formats unfortunately since the gauges are continuously being improved and updated and different vehicles have different working PIDs. But you can normally just thumb through them and see what works best for that...

Best gauge setup for LMS tuner

Welcome to the Forum from the crew at Livernois Motorsports! Thanks for your order as well. The gauge layout really depends on what all you are looking to monitor. You can look at coolant / engine temps, boost, o2 sensors, knock, Lambda, you name it. All the Mycal gauges are displayed in...

What did you do to your 5th Gen?

That's an impressive improvement over the factory times for sure. Tuning alone really wakes these 3.5s up , just wish there was more available for them. That's not a bad next step after the usual bolt ons though. You have to love that feeling when your 3.5L N/A is running nearly Ecoboost...

What did you do to your 5th Gen?

Thanks for sharing! Glad to hear you've been enjoying the tune. Tuning the 3.5L N/A models has become very popular now that more and more owners have shared their experiences and guys have seen we can provide near the Sport power levels without having to install additional upgrades beyond the...

    Which would you choose?

We usually run Royal Purple or Brad Penn at the shop. But if I had to choose between these two I'd go for Mobil 1 full synthetic.

    Livernois Motorsports Spring Special!

Thanks for reaching out! You are correct, unfortunately the 1990s to early 2000s model years are not supported by most handheld programmers due to the different processor types Ford used on the early OBD 2 systems. We can still usually tune many of the late 90s and early 2000+ model year Ford...

    2020 Platinum Tune?

Thank you for reaching out! I do not see anything listed for tuning the Explorer 2.3L in our database as of yet unfortunately. Normally I would ask if you were local and would like to bring down the vehicle for dyno tuning , but I see your location says CA so not very close to Michigan. We've...

Mike, Congrats on the new 2020 Explorer ST, but I am very sorry to hear you ended up going with another company after getting the Expedition. I thought this sounded familiar so I searched your info in our emails and I see you had actually posted about this last year on the F150 forum as well...

    2020 Platinum Tune?

You are very welcome, happy to help out! Thank you very much for the kind words as well. I've attached a E30 blending chart that's able to give you a general idea of how much E85 and 93 premium fuel to blend. Keep in mind this chart is based off of a perfect scenario where the 93 is E10 and...

Thanks for sharing Jeff! Looks like some great passes for a tune only vehicle especially. Not sure if you have E85 available in your area but we do also ave a slightly more powerful tune for E30 that we could send over if you ever wanted to give that a shot as well. We are still waiting for...

Thank you for your order! I am very sorry to hear of this. We had a couple hundred tune request emails come through in a very short period of time since our tuners are $100 off currently. So a few of my co-workers were helping to answer back to get everyone their tunes as quickly as possible...

    2013 Sport random little issues

Glad to hear you enjoy the tune! When underboost type of codes start coming up often times it's just a simple boost leak most commonly. Have you tried searching underhood for any boost / vacuum lines that show signs of leaks or have come disconnected? I have seen a few over the years that pop...

    Transmission Issues?

Once you install a tune / flash the vehicle it usually takes a good week or so to fully adapt to the changes made and to relearn how you drive again. It wipes the memory fro the transmission's adaptive learning curve and has to start over with a blank slate. So it usually starts out shifting a...

    Transmission Issues?

We have had several customers with the 2020 Explorer STs and Aviators 3.0L Ecoboost that had told us they experienced some shifting quirks they did not care for on the stock transmission calibrations. When they took their trucks into the dealer often times there were software updates for the...

    Livernois Tune - 2019 Sport

Thanks for your interest in our products and services! Many customers keep their tuner in the vehicle with them when traveling or drop to a slightly less aggressive tune safe for lower octane fuels. If you had the 93 tune installed, no tuner with you, and ended up getting stuck with 91, you...

Top 5 Mods for a Sport

I would have to agree the tune is the #1 mod to these explorer sports. Just off a tune you can pick up 60+awhp. Then adding intake and more importantly 3 bar map sensor for higher rpm performance. I also agree on lowering kit for handling. If you guys have any questions message us or call us at...

    Livernois Lowering spring install

Hey just wanted to help answer some questions on it. So all kits should come with the needed camber bolts. And yes you will need to get an alignment. Sometimes on new springs you have to give them time to settle in before you reach certain ride heights. But besides that you should be about at...

    Stic-o's 2019 Ranger XLT FX4

Hey just wanted to let all you Ranger fans know we have engine and trans tune available for the 2.3 ecoboost Ranger. We were really happy with the results now we didn't see as big as a jump as the 2.3 mustang but it also had a higher baseline. This is also carb legal in all 50 states. If anyone...

    Explorer Sport newbie

Hey congrats on the vehicle. Only tip I can give you is to use high octane fuel because it is a direct injection motor. Back of intake valves get build up so higher octane will burn a little cleaner and ofcourse give more power and more mpg

    Livernois tune questions

Well anytime you upload a new tune to vehicle it does reset the adaptives. So you should take it easy for the first little bit of driving and sometimes can take up to a week for full reset. Let me know what happens and if you have any questions or concerns please reach back out to us. Thanks

Does anyone actually love their 5th gen Explorer?

I can tell you are customers absolutely love the sport. The 3.5 ecoboost engine picks up so much power off just a simple tune and with a couple more bolt ons you can really surprise people with the awd. Here is a video of a dyno after some basic bolt ons.

Your opinion on 2014 Sport with 140K miles on it???

Yes it does burn cleaner that is why premium fuel is better. And yes you are correct on PTU fluid I forgot to mention that as well. Now as for that product we have never used it so I don't want to give any advice on it. But I will tell you they are a good company but I would read into it a...

Your opinion on 2014 Sport with 140K miles on it???

Well I can tell you the known issues are back of intake valves get build up so make sure to run premium gas. Also if you track it make sure you let good cool down time between runs don't keep hot lapping. Also turbo's can go out at that mileage as well. But besides that these are good power for...
