    common mods...

I think that slicky is trying to say that there is nothing to be gained by modding your car without tuning it as well. Which is correct. I think that you are lost in his delivery. There are also parts that are not there for any direct performance gains, like an FMIC or tstat. They are there to...

Tunes for the N/A 3.5L Explorers

Most of the Explorers that we tune are actually 4x4's. The gains are identical. Your overall power output is slightly lower, but the gains are going to be identical.

HPFP High Pressure Fuel Pump and tuning

We have actually explored (no pun intended) all of these things years ago. There is research and development that we do privately and for other companies that never sees the light of day. Just because we do not talk about it on the forums does not mean that we have not done it. There is no way...

HPFP High Pressure Fuel Pump and tuning

We have tested this for years. The ~5% additional spray and atomization means nothing. You cannot effectively upgrade the fueling system without addressing the cam driven metering system. As for the F150 comparo, the F150 is a completely different animal. Different block, heads and turbos!

    Not a TT Tuesday

Not everyone that is on the forum has an XSport. We regularly receive inquiries about our ability to modify other types of vehicles. To be fair, the post's title is "Not a TT Tuesday".

    Not a TT Tuesday

No that is NOT a typo, GT1000R! The S197 Shelbys are amazing from the factory. There is no doubt that Ford knew tuners were going to go wild-no other manufacturer has ever offered a four-valve-per-cylinder, dual-overhead-cam, supercharged V-8 engine with the ability to extract such...

    PTU Fluid

You do need to use an air compressor to suction the fluid out of the PTU. Another good practice is to fill your PTU to the fill line and then add an extra PINT to it. The reasoning for this is to prevent any cavitation from occurring after the fluid is hot and becomes less viscus.

For Livernois and others. questions about engines blowing

The stock unit is 178°F. With an 18° delta you will not see a nominal difference in where the needle sits on your dash. What you will experience is that your vehicle is more capable to repeatedly make consistent power, and has far better driveability. He did actually log his vehicle several...

For Livernois and others. questions about engines blowing

I would say that there is no way that your technician is more well versed in the EcoBoost platform than we are. Where would he have gotten his technical data in order to make such a recommendation? Was he just arbitrarily speaking? We routinely purchase several new vehicles every 6-10 months...

Which cold air intake system is better

All of this is true. While there is much "debate" on the internet about the validity of a CAI here are some facts: your engine is an air pump more air + more fuel=power more air in means that you need more air out Like slicky said all of this means ZERO without a tune. We have had several...

2014 Explorer Sport Livernois Tune Question

We recommend having the tuning and mods done simultaneously (or as close as possible). You can install the tune after you pick her up from the dealer as well. This way you are not taking your vehicle in with any non-Ford calibration on it. This is probably what I would do if I were you.

2014 Explorer Sport Livernois Tune Question

The benefit at that level of modification is a respectable 12-14hp! Once you add on more parts later that number will inflate almost instantly! Exhaust mods like downpipes really bring out the benefits of having a quality CAI. Firstly, thank you for your business and following us on the...

    It is Almost Tuning Season!

The 2013 Explorer is actually the first EcoBoost. Your syntax and phrasing makes it really difficult to discern what it is that you are saying. So I apologize if I do not answer your question to a satisfactory level. These are all of the things that get addressed in our tuning: ● Fuel...

    Livernois tune experience

We do not recommend any type of intake or throttle body spacers at all. There is nothing to be gained by these mods as the limitations of the EcoBoosts or any MAP vehicle have nothing to do with the volumetric capacity of air. No worries Tony, have a good day!
  35. L

    Livernois tune experience

Tony, When combined with our tuning you will not have a CEL, because we add that modification into the logic of our tuning.
  36. L

    Livernois tune experience

That is not what we do at all. Nor was what you brought up part of the initial question regarding emissions testing. The question was, will running on the stock file produce a CEL with the aftermarket tstat? The answer to that is, yes, it is possible that you will have a CEL on the stock...

    Livernois tune experience

Absolutely not! You cannot tell the ECM to ignore a system that is responsible for the cooling of your engine. We alter the operating temp that your ECM deems allowable, as well as altering your cooling fan settings to allow for optimal cooling capabilities.
