2014 Explorer Sport Livernois Tune Question

An inexpensive bolt on that will help you take better advantage of a tune is a 3 BAR MAP sensor. It allows us to get better control of the boost that your car makes naturally. Your car on the stock tune and 2 BAR MAP from Ford wastes a ton of boost. The 3 BAR MAP sensor allows us to better...

Tunes for the N/A 3.5L Explorers

Well, I think we need to start with what engine is inside of your Limited? Is it the 2L, 3.5L NA or the 3.5L EcoBoost? All 3 options were available for that model year. If it is either 3.5L option tuning is the best mod that you could ever do! Unfortunately, we do not offer tuning for the...

Tunes for the N/A 3.5L Explorers

Ford considers the 2016 NA engine vehicles to be the base vehicle. The EcoBoosts are the elevated trim levels.

    Livernois tune questions

We do not do power testing on 93 octane, as that fuel just does not have enough energy in it to generate more power. 87/89 octane tuning is mostly trans modification. 93 octane tuning is not only the most powerful, but also the most efficient. The higher the octane fuel you use the slower it...

    Livernois tune questions

You can choose from our custom performance or tow tuning for octane levels from 87-93+ octane rated fuels. When you purchase our tuner you also get our tunes and tuning support. So there are no charges for any remote updates that you are interest in. If you load a tune for 93 octane fuel...

    New Update!!!!

The vehicle will never actually allow you to have full control over any stability system. However, that is something that advancetrac still has control over at higher speeds the ECM is far more conservative when high throttle requests are made in conjunction with steering wheel input. That is...

Tunes for the N/A 3.5L Explorers

It is not plug and play, but it also does not require any dyno time. My prior post does lay out the NA tuner process, and even includes the instructions for the EcoBoost if you happen to have that instead of the NA 3.5L variant.

Tunes for the N/A 3.5L Explorers

Your tuner will arrive to you completely blank, and ready to read info that will give us your factory calibration. You email that info to us, and we build you your tunes. When they are built we provide you with an app to download to your PC. This app will allow you to connect to our secured...

How many 2016 Sports run the Livernois Tuner?

BlackJac is exactly right. If you are driving normally, there should not be a CEL produced. If there is one, no big deal the ECM thinks that it cannot get up to running temps. Nothing will be hurt by it.

Tunes for the N/A 3.5L Explorers

With gains of over 31hp and 44tq on your otherwise stock Explorer our custom tuning is an absolute no brainer!

    Cold Air Intake (CAI) Discussion

We have actually tested the MD CAI on a couple of full bolt on EB vehicles, and it ranges from 16-24whp less when compared to our Windstorm. The most famous of these comparo vehicles is: https://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=425376

https://www.livernoismotorsports.com/product/LPP631121 We can tune the 3.7L, but it does have to be a dyno tune.

Take the intake tube off, remove the hose to the thermostat housing outlet. You will lose about a quart of antifreeze from that. Then remove the two 8mm bolts holding the housing outlet on. Once you pop out the stock thermostat you will lose another quart to half gallon of antifreeze. Put it...

That part number is geared more towards the Crowns, trucks and early SUV's, I apologize.

    Cold Air Intake (CAI) Discussion

There is an important note to add in here. Without tuning the car will compensate for the additional air flow (if any) by subtracting fueling. Thus keeping your parameters the same. Tuning is the only way to actually your vehicle, because the ECM runs the show.

    New Update!!!!

Version 5 is the most current tune version available for the XSport. As I am sure you can understand there is no way that we can keep every one of the ~180 vehicles that we offer support for abreast of all updates. Typically, keeping your eye on your platform's forum(s) is the best way to make...

No it cannot be. The stock tune file has no way of speaking to a second 3BAR MAP.

Vehicle Health Report with LMS tune

I saw this thread Sunday, so I had to go and try it out on my car...mine works fine. I have flashed it to stock and ran the VHR. Then tuned it again without any issues. I wish that I could help more, but I have not heard this one in my 2 years.

    2016 sport/platinum economy/performance tune questions

Apples to apples. I have a rather light foot when just DD. All of the tuned vehicles that I own, run 93 performance tuning, and I see even better gains than that I noted. The gains that I referenced are the average of what gets reported back to us. The best efficiency saver is going to be...

    A SHO faster than a Z06, Shelby GT500 AND a GTR!?!

Sorry I missed this post! It is a DD in the suburbs of Chicago. It has been a DD since new with zero issues. There certainly is not a factory Shelby that is this fast.

    2016 sport/platinum economy/performance tune questions

I get what you are trying to say B. Honestly you will see an overall gain of 2-4MPG from our 93 tuning. That is honestly the best that I have ever heard of on any forum post tuning. The best efficiency is always going to be from 93...that is on the stock file or otherwise. Usually, the gain in...

    2016 sport/platinum economy/performance tune questions

1995E is correct! Our tuning would raise the towing capability. However, the platform is based upon that of a car so that capacity is going to be and stay relatively low for safety. MPG gains vary, but are reported to be between 2-4MPG using premium. The reason why you want to use premium...
