I think the point it that it's better than knowing nothing like the old days. But I don't think they're keeping up well with the way the current production schedule is going. If they were on track with production properly building orders in 4-10 weeks, I'd bet the tracker would be more accurate.

Holy Heck the Ford vehicle tracker now says my Explorer has been delivered! Exciting stuff! They beat the delivery date by 3 days. Very cool. Anyone else have an update on theirs??

I can live without that feature. Think I'll just clip the dimmer wire.

Also to be more specific. Soon as the headlights are off the radio works fine. So It's not an antenna issue, just something happens to the power when the lights are on.

My daughter reported on the way home if she fiddled with the dimmer switch on the dash that the radio came on. Then if she hit a bump it would go in and out. So i guess its related to the dimmer switch. Maybe disconnecting the dimmer wire from the radio is a good idea.

So here is a quirk. When you turn on the headlights or it's dark out and the headlights are on, the radio says "no signal" and it doesn't operate. Also the heater controls have no lights. Not sure if all the bulbs are out, or if something else is going on. Far as the radio goes I used one of...

Well Since my daughter will be driving with her little son in the car, a muffler is a must. Just not the stock one. I had a 2000 explorer previously with the 4.0. I'd love another one, but I have to say I'm a 5.0 guy at this point.

I pulled the mirror. The issue with this one is that the metal clip that's fastened to the mirror shoe is basically worn out. It wobbles all by itself. I need to source out a different rearview in better shape.

I'll service the trans and do a Jmod soon. Currently the trans is pretty solid. Just can't justify keeping the EX from her for any longer to put off what I can do in one day when we are ready. When I do the diff I'm just going to do wheel bearings and seals all at the same time. And a trip for a...

Well thankfully she is a practical and thoughtful driver. She's been driving a 1998 Lincoln Mark 8 since 2016. She taken pretty good care of it overall. Now the fresh EX is in better shape than when she started with the mark 8. She should do alright.

Well tonight my daughter is taking the car home..not sure how I feel about this... however it was the purpose from the start...

I picked up a media only unit from Autozone made by Dual. $120 on the shelf. I got it for $80. Has bluetooth. Which for a 23 year old kid is perfect. Sounds nice. My youngest son donated a set of upgraded speakers to the project. Nothing crazy but nice enough for the project.

Just finished the front shocks. I bought some autozone shocks cheap for front and rear. They're still leaps and bounds better than what was on there. I'm glad I didn't wait on that item.

Yesterday I installed the stereo. Glued the vents back into the trim face. The interior is done. I replaced the rear shocks the day before. Have a couple of small things left today a d my daughter is coming to take it home.

I paid $100 at Firestone.

All the mats in the EX are genuine Ford. Grabbed them all at the Junkyard and pressure washed them.

Yeah for sure. One of my customers has a 98 EX, I have to do his axle seals and bearings and the parking shoes are falling apart. 24 years is long enough...

Tomorrow or Sunday I'll get the radio in and the center trim and that should be it for now. I'll let her drive for awhile then I'll service the trans and do a Jmod. Then do the rear diff service. Likely just change the wheel bearings and seals at the same time. Then it should be good for some...

The engine has plenty life left. It really gets up and goes. 80 mph comes really quickly..

Ill take another look tomorrow but I don’t think thats the case on this. This has the autodim mirror. And it has all those plastic pieces that have to fit perfect to be on the windshield. All of that is in place nicely. But ill double check. Its dark out now.

I had a new windshield installed. My problem is that the mirror is installed, it just wobbles a bunch when you drive.

Rear tailgate panel is on and done. door panels all on, but looking for a few of the correct screws...sigh. All ceiling lighting installed. One of the sockets on the front seat light doesn't work..hmm. Rear view mirror is wobbly, need to work that out. Few more things to go.

Working on finishing up the interior currently. Getting closer. This EX is going to the daughter by Sunday..

Have you found a replacement for the anti wrap shock for the rear other than Bilstein?
