Do you recommend installing HIDs ?
I recommend either the sylvania/philips kits from KBcarstuff, or morimoto HID kits. both are OEM suppliers and their ballasts controlers work correctly with veichle voltages and tollerate momentary drops. IE you don't need battery relays with them - they will power right through the headlamp...- Napalm

Door locking from door handle 2016
does the 12 have an actual push button? because the 2016 is a touch sense pad. also - I don't use that to lock - I use the key fob, or I pre-lock the doors by hitting the button on the inside and then close the door. I use the fob to unlock most often as well - because I like to remote start...- Napalm

2016 - 2018 Explorer Headlight Question
Agree to disagree slightly. Without knowing the specifics of the voltage and the current let's say neither system is more effecient than the others. High output LED emitters do indeed seem to be in the 30+ watt range these days. On the turn on thing - yes LED's light off easier, and quicker...- Napalm

modern syn blend (which is what your 5-20 motorcraft stuff is) doesn't care about time. it cares about heat, water vapor, and dirt. sitting still it doesn't care. HOWEVER upon that first startup - the top of your engine will indeed be DRY. as is cam journals, lifters, etc. because months...- Napalm

I bet you could retrofit something like that in place but it wouldn't be nearly as elegant. those systems have now been replaced with adaptive cruise/panic brake systems. Today's car forward sensing radar system will coordinate with the car's computer systems to decelerate via lack of...- Napalm

also like adaptive cruise it has to tie to the ABS/Stability system and the BCM - sorry GEM, I need to remember to think Ford. so there's data buss ties that are needed and potentially software updates or features to be turned on. 2016 - 2018 Explorer Headlight Question

What Ford SHOULD have done with the 2016 Explorer
buddy of mine had a 97 model E36. it was a fun, nice car but he wrecked it one day in the rain (bad combo of events all around). His replacement was a e46 04 model with the smg I'm glad bimmer offers a smaller M sedan again.- Napalm

What Ford SHOULD have done with the 2016 Explorer
I don't own a sport I just test drove 2 2016 models before buying my XLT. but in the drives I didn't then the torque steer was unmanageable, let alone scary. with those limitations in mind - are they going to drive it for you? if not - the battery will tolerate a month, not much more but it can. if you're that worried disconnect it. but remember to pull both leads - some people only pull the negative - while that does disconnect the car - it can...- Napalm

2016 Explore LED Headlight Kelvin?
it's not quite as focused as a proper HID projector setup, tis true. but it is 4300K white, High output light. very clean, very well lit. I would highly advise against changing them out - because they are also built into the housing. the LED element is on the side of the housing - and...- Napalm

Brake Wear and Rotor Grooving
New cars (since about 2008+) often have a feature called electronic brake force distribution. That groove usually indicates your pads are very worn and/or gone. There's is a nifty device on the pad as a wear indicator - it's a little metal tab that once the pad is worn - will ride on the rotor and make noise. usually squealing. if ignored - it eventually either breaks off or folds...- Napalm

I wouldn't suggest it - not only for the screwing around with getting the kiddo's in. but also crash risk. If in a explorer and that's your favorite device - I'd consider getting the mid buckets with no console (which is what I have seating wise). then you can actually get to the rear...- Napalm

yes but you could re-arrange the console and have more space - from where the shifter box is located. or go the push button route. I've seen that on a few cars recently and I don't mind it so much. instead of a column shifter I'd have equally settled for a push button thing like the lincolns have. (MKZ I think?) since the edge lives off the fuzion platform, and the explorer off the taurus - I think the design cues make all sorts of sense. but following on - what ford should have done lines. 1) power lift gate and remote start should have been standard across the line 2) should have tacked 3-5 inches...- Napalm

I would probably guess that within 2 years the key fob battery on these new "keyless entry" fobs would be dead or almost dead - they have to transmit quite a bit, quite often. I noticed the book for my 2016 says to replace them every year for optimal performance- Napalm

if you ask politely the dealer might re-calibrate your car for you also where do you get this 3% thing from? the only thing truly affected is the speedo/miles values.
