DUDE, really!!??? I hope you meant the truck, or you are down for a case of whopass;);););) Just sold the Volvo in under an hour after posting it on CL. Got 15 phone calls, emails, and texts within 15 minutes. Ordered one off ebay already. The seller is also trying to find me a couple of them for gratis. I know how to program them, its easy and I can do it myself. No SAS, its too clean, too long, too underpowered, for that. All other recommendations to make it an off-roader will be ignored.......:D- BKennedy

Well, I thought about that, but then I thought that like everyone else who want to off-road; they should pay for their own 4x4. When the time is right, I am sure she will have a off-roader.- BKennedy

It is nowhere near being all dialed in, but most people would call it good. On the coil overs, I adjusted the stop ring down so the tender springs only compress 1.5" before the main spring takes over. Took out nearly all of the body roll for street driving. Should help with the dirt as...- BKennedy

Auto. 52,000 miles. Did not come with a keyless remote, so I got to find one or two of those. I asked her if white would be okay for a truck, but she has no idea I went out and made a deal. 1.8% financing. I have looked at around 30 of the Rangers. All were beat up POS's with crappy...- BKennedy

but she just joined the Ford family. I just brought home her own 2010 Ranger Supercab XLT. They are getting hard to find as I spent the past month looking. Finally found one at a great deal that is super clean. 2.3Liter little engine, but it seems to pull pretty good. She has been asking...- BKennedy

So far, no smog person has asked about the transmission. I found out after I did the 700R4 swap that you are required to keep the original model transmission in the People's Republic of Kalifornia. Guy was really cool. My gas cap failed, and he pulled out his test cap and used that on the...- BKennedy

Passed SMOG (Hard to read pic below): Smog guy looked all around, asked a bunch of questions, I showed him where I put all the smog crap back and he said it all looked fine. Even asked about the old replacement cat (apparently, if you have replaced it since 2009, you need one with a CARB #...- BKennedy

hot air coming from vent
I have one of these in the center console of the Explorer in case the POS plastic heater control bypass valve in the heater hose falls apart. I was changing out the hoses a few years ago and it just crumbled when I tried to remove it. Good insurance.- BKennedy

The next big step is passing smog. I need to take it next week. Hopefully, the smog guy will just look and see that everything is still there and do the test. I know it will pass the emissions, its just getting the right guy for the visual part. I put all of the stuff back so it appears to...- BKennedy

LMAO!! Nothing fancy, I am just going to strengthen the back end of the skid plate and add to it. Use the two front mounts for the gas tank/skid plate for the end of the transfer case skid.- BKennedy

Thanks, I should pick some of that up. I did pick up a remnant piece of 1/16" thick x 4' wide x 1' long piece of rubber sheet to use as a cover for all of that stuff. I just have to figure out how to mount it so I can fold it out of the way when I need to access the fuse panel. Of course, I...- BKennedy

I got the skid plate nearly finished and bolted it up to check for final fit and noticed something I don't like; there is a gap of about 14" between the rear of the new skid plate and the beginning of the gas tank skid plate. If I actually put this new skid to good use and slid up over a large...- BKennedy

Deaver leaves part #s
I have heard many mixed results with Deaver springs. They also farm out a lot of their jobs to other spring makers. I suggest giving National Spring a try. They have done a bunch of Explorers for people I know and they last forever. http://nationalsprings.com/- BKennedy

Rear end Howl from Difff
Just remember to make sure you put the carrier bearing caps back on the same side they came off, and the same orientation. There should be a mark or symbol on the cap and the side of the diff so you can line them back up. If not, mark the carrier bearing caps before you remove them.- BKennedy

Thanks. That was a option I have used in the past. I don't have a steel table, so I use the concrete floor. I lean the plate over a large piece of angle at the cut, then stand on the long end and beat the other end with a BFH. Seems to work. I was hoping for some magical way to bend plate I...- BKennedy

New transfer case skid plate mock-up. Has to go around the radius arm frame mounts /bolts and mount to the cross member. Skid plate will be 3/16" thick by 35" wide (at widest point) and 15" long. Will be using four 7/16" round head bolts on the cross member and two more on each side of the...- BKennedy

Also worked on the brakes a little more today and I think they are good. With the front tires removed, and the suspension hanging on the limit straps, the bleeder valves are above the banjo bolts.
