    Is there a hidden bolt

    On a 2.3 dohc motor that might be hidden under the timing chain cover that is keeping the head from coming off. Attempting to remove head without taking off the cover and something is holding it on the drivers side front. Engine is out of vehicle. Thanks Jim

    Are these transmissions interchangable? Evidentally my 02 has a m5d4 and it needs replacing. I have access to a m5od r-1 at a reasonable cost and would like to know if it would work. The ranger is a 2wd 2.3 liter base model. It has a bad 2nd gear syncro and I can get around that by double...

    New 2.3 engine

    Have an 03 Ranger with a 2.3 and would like to find some info about this motor. Is it a Zetec, Duratec or Mazda. Does it have a Timing belt or chain? What is the reccomended replacement interval? Is it an interference fit motor? New to the forum, first post. Thanks in advance. Jim
