    removing fuel lines

    So I'm replacing the entire fuel sending unit submerged in the gas tank on my 1994 explorer sport ... and I'm up to the point where I've exposed the top of the sending unit ... Now I need to disconnect the lines. So I'm wondering if I need to first remove the top L-shaped metal bracket...

    I'm replacing my fuel sending unit on the 94' explorer sport, 4wd. Is it absolutley necessary that I reinstall the big metal shield covering the gas tank. I understand these shields are only on the 4wd models. I never go off roading with the truck, So I'm thinking I can do without it. Any...
