    Lugnuts

As long as I am here this AM; my 94 XLT with the factory alloy wheels has had the auto hubs replaced with manual Warns. I did this myself it was very easy, I think I had 45/mins in the whole job. However, the lock nuts have a tendency to loosen over time. You can feel it slightly in the...

    Power Door lock Switch

I have a 94 XLT with sticking power door lock switches. The switch on the drivers side arm rest will unlock but not lock. I have never taken the door panels off this rig. Do they require any special tools for clip removal? I would assume these are sealed switches and require replacement rather...

    O/2 sensor questions

I have a 94 XLT and a 94 B-4000 4.0 pickup. Last weekend I pulled a small trailer on about a 220 mile run loaded with an antique oak bar behind the pickup. We were running about 75/mph the whole way. Going up hills the check engine light came on under hard throttle and stayed on for quite while...

    Squeeling noises in 4wd

I have a 1994 Mazda B4000 extended cab 4-wd pick up, (Ranger clone). This truck has developed a squeeling noise in 4 wheel drive. The noise sounds like a dry bearing and is not constant, but occurs each time something rotating in the front end or transfer case makes a revolution. I had the fluid...

    auto trans premature upshifts

I have a 1994 Mazda B 4000 LE 4WD (Ranger clone) and a 1994 Explorer XLT; both of which are well maintained, auto trans in both. My pickup is upshifting too quickly through the lower gears. I assume this transmission is electronically controlled. What could be failing parts wise or what can I...

    Wacky Voltage guages!

I have two 4.0 litre 1994 Ford products, an Explorer XLT and a B4000 4WD extra cab pickup. Now when I start either of them the voltage guage needle is stuck in the upper left position and won't move unless you pound on top of the dash with your fist. I know all of the guages are simply modified...

    gas mileage

Just for comparison: I have a 94 XLT drove it on a weekender, mostly flatland freeway roughly 77/MPH. Total trip miles was about 430. I averaged 18.5 mpg. anyone one else doing much better than that? Truck is stock, well maintained. Wanted to know how others were doing. Thanks Tom Kauffman

    misc info needed

Have got a lot of good information from this club. Thanks to all who post to help others out. I have a couple of questions maybe someone can answer. Does Ford hide a build sheet in their vehicles like GM used to? I have a 94 X and would like to see what options were listed on the original...

    Explorer/Ranger Guages

Somewhere in this forum there is a post regarding guages. If I recall, the poster claims a Ford Engineer told him the guages were not real guages? Does this mean they are really a type of idiot light? I have a 94 XLT with an oil pressure guage that is erratic. Sometimes it runs about 2/3 of the...

    Sunshade for my XLT

Greetings to all: Thanks to all who responded to my last posts. Wondered if anyone knew of a grey interior early XLT with the pop-up sunroof that my be junked or parted, I am looking for the sunshade or even the frame if anything. Thanks, Tom

    Soggy motor

I have a 94 Mazda B-4000 4.0/L and a 94 XLT same motor. Last nite I did something real stupid; I pressure washed the pick-up's motor. The truck starts, idles real rough and blows black carbon smoke out the exhaust. You can smell it's running real rich. As soon as you rev it up it smooths out...

    Change in oil pressure

I have a 94 XLT which I bought 4 months ago with about 100/K miles. I have changed the oil twice in the last 4,500 miles (mostly highway). My pressure guage always runs about 2/3rd the way up the normal scale. Last weekend it had dropped to 1/3, was not a gradual drop, I just noticed it was...
