I just purchased a broken down 1997 Explorer XLT from a guy who said the oil pump failed. It has right at 100K on it.
Sure enough it has zero oil pressure.
I pulled the 4.0 OHV and pulled the oil pan and the bottom of the pan had a solid 3 inches of sludge...So much the oil pump screen was...
