    wheels vs. spacers?

    So I'd like my '96 Explorer to be a little wider where the rubber meets the road, but after spending some time on this forum, I've come to the realization that simply putting on wheels with a different offset will probably screw with the ABS.     Hi! I'm the new owner of a '96 Explorer, 4 door, 4x4, 4.0 V6, automatic, power everything, sunroof, etc. (I don't know for sure the exact submodel--I bought it a few weeks ago, but then left the USA the next day to visit my in-laws in the UK). Anyway, as stated, I'm new to Explorers...
