    Shutter at high speed...

I have noticed lately that my 94xlt shutters at highway speeds (60-70). I consider this an emergency b/c the shutter is getting more pronounced. I feel it mostly in the steering wheel and in the brake/acceleration pedal, along with below my feet on the driver side. I have noticed that when I...

    coolant leaking

After driving home from work this evening (in -3 degree weather) and parking I noticed that my temp gauge had gone all the way to H. I could hear coolant bubbling and when I pulled the hood up antifreeze was everywhere. The overflow resevoir was completely full and dumping coolant everywhere...

    Replacing Catalytic converters

Finally found out the long time problem with my 94xlt. The car had been stalling and had no accelaration when hot/warm. Today I started the car and it stalled after about three seconds. I unhooked the EGR tube that runs from the exhaust manifold to the EGR valve and started it up and it ran...

    Need help identifying sensor

Took off my upper intake manifold today on my 94 XLT to retorque the lower intake bolts (which by the way were really loose) and in the process unscrewed a sensor from the driver side upper manifold that I have no idea what it is. It is the exact same size as a coolant temperature sensor, but...

    Annoying temp gauge

The temp gauge on my 94xlt fluctuates from N to M in minute intervals. When I turn on the heat the gauge goes all the way to L. What could be the problem. I have replaced the coolant temperature sensor. Do I just need to flush the coolant system?

    Loose ground cable

I have a loose ground cable on the passenger side of the engine bay in my 94 XLT. One end is currently connected to the passenger fender and the other end is dangling. It right behind the power distribution box. Anyone have any idea where the other end connects to?!?!

    Figgidy temp gauge

I put in a new thermostat and coolant temperature sensor today to fix a "lively" temp gauge. After putting both of them in and running the truck the temp gauge still bounces from N to M. What the heck is wrong? I appreciate any info because I am stumped.

Oil and gum in intake manifold

I took off my throttle body today to replace my coolant temperature sensor and discovered that the inside of my upper intake manifold is covered in oil residue. Is this normal? My 94 XLT has 176,000 on it and I know it has a leak in the lower intake manifold gasket. Could this leak cause oil...

    Broken canister purge solenoid

Yesterday I accidently broke the nylon T-bushing that connects the solenoid under the intake manifold to the plastic tubes from the charcoal canister to the throttle bottle. Is it fine to drive with it broken for a while? I smell a bit of gas, but I read that is going to happen when this...

    Reaccuring problem with 94XLT

When my XLT is hot and I turn it off, let it sit for a few minutes, then turn it on and drive, I can't! There is extreme hesitation and no power. I can press the gas pedal all the way to the floor and it won't go over 5mph. I thought I had fixed it by replacing EGR valve and EGR pressure...

    Radiator question

Last week while trying to fix a loose fan shroud I accidently drilled a small hole in my radiator. Coolant began to slowly drip out at a constant rate and I mended the hole with some Fahrenheit heat putty I had. The day after my stupid incident I drove to Vermont and back (650 miles total)...

Broken EGR Valve to exhaust Manifold tube

Today I attempted to intall a new EGR valve in my '94 XLT and broke the tube that runs from the valve to the exhaust manifold. Anyhow, I called the Ford dealership nearby after hours and still have not heard from them. Just wondering if this part will be expensive or is it easily available...

    94' XLT Won't Start

Followed detailed directions on replacing a bad fuel pressure regulator (FPR) today from the internet; turned engine on and pulled the fuel pump relay to depressurize the system; removed air hose; drained about a quart of antifreeze to remove coolant hose near FPR. Removed FPR and placed new...

    Rough acceleration

I have a '94 XLT with 175,000. Recently I have had the problem of rough acceleration/idling after driving for a while and shutting the engine off. To be more exact, I drive for about ten minutes, park the truck and turn off the engine, then return ten minutes later and start up with rough...
