Everytime I engage the 4X4 on my 92 Explorer it gives a "crack" noise, and it repeats every 6 t0 15 feet.:help: . A guy at the parts store told me Explorers do that all the time and that it is normal. Please advise, thanks.

Has anybody used the UNI filter on an EXP? On dirt bikes I have noticed that the foam filters better than the gauze filter. Any experience on this?

I have a 92 Explorer XLT with 388,000 and still going strong. No problems ever, I bought it with 112,000 6 years ago. I have decided to keep it and want to install a K&N filter, exhaust system, etc. What kind of suspension mods I need for off-roading?
