Has anyone bought an engine or tranny from ford for their explorer and if so what was your experience?

I am contiplating replacing my engine, anyone have any suggestions on a good place to buy a 4.0 for a 93 explorer. Was thinking of getting a long block and going from there but has any one bought a crate engine ready to drop in and if so how much was it? Thanks in advance.
