Thanks for the great VB dairies. Getting ready to do my 96 Ranger 4x2 with 4R55E. What do you use to clean the VB parts with? How much cleaning should be done. If I am not going to totally disassemble it, can/should it be submursed in cleaning fluid? If yes is there some sort of lube...
Does anyone know why the 95-96 EPC valve is different than the 97+? Oh, and it costs 2x the price... Can the newer valve be substituted?
96 Ranger 4.0 4x2 4R55E with bad 2-3 flair.
I have read many threads on this excellent board about shift flaring and VB rebuilding. I have a 96 Ranger 4.0 4x2 that has a bad 2-3 flare. Truck has 143k on it and has never been worked on (original owner). I changed the tranny fluid every 30k.
It has had the flare for several years...
