Pulled the exhaust, still low vacuum

Disconnected from exhaust manifold. Could the timing mark on the camshaft be off that far from a 90 mustang to my 87 Ranger 2.3? Its really starving for air; I sprayed a little startin fluid in the air filter and it killed it. I can rev it up by pumping the throttle, but still has no power...

Resurrected my 87, low vacuum now

Found another head for my 2.3 FI on a 90 Mustang, and it seems to be OK. Took off down the road without ddoing the ignition timing and also forgot to reconnect the alternator. after a while, it kept stalling at idle. Reconnected the alternator, but lost more power going home. Valve timing...

    87 Ranger finally beyond repair

Kept pressurizing the coolant system, tore it down and couldn't find a crack. Put it back together, still pressurizes the system. 2.3 FI just isn't worth the cost to risk a new head

coolant loss in 87 2.3l Ranger

Disappears at irregular intervals. Sometimes 1 gal in 15 miles, sometimes 1 quart in 50. I've seen foam in the radiator, and due to its age suspect a head gasket is aging. (20 years by now) So I pulled the head and #4 looks crappy with carbo. no leak there I guess. But the top edges of 2 and 3...

    94 Explorer 4WD fluid leak

Well, I got under the girls vehicle in bright daylight a week after cleaning everything and its not the modulator. Fresh tranny fluid at the bell housing. She wants to get rid of it in the spring. Looks like a lot of wprk to drop the tranny and probably find worn bushings in adddition to seals...

    Trans fluid loss

I know I'm under qualified, having taken an AOD apart on my 91 Lincoln, and rebuilt a $)# for my dodge turbo. But I am at a loss as to why a 94 4WD Explorer would be losing fluid with no apparent leaks. Seals are dry, gasket is mostly dry. And I read here in the sticky about a vacuum...
