ok here it is 97 explorer xlt 4 wd borg warner 4405 transfer case repair replaced range and insert fork input bearing and shaft,clutch housing assembly along with bearing,gaskets and seals. problem is now fixed
I have a 1997 xlt automatic 4wd with 173000 miles on it while driving at different speeds once in while i hear a whinning noise (like shifting from drive to park while moving) then i put it in neutral and back into drive or give it more gas and then its fine. sometimes it never happens.:confused:
