    need transmission advice

    I just bought a 1992 XLT with 138,000 miles. The previous owner had not changed the transmission fluid for the past 82,000 miles. Is it safe to go ahead and have it flushed, or is it better to just leave it alone? I would appreciate any advice. Redman
