    98 SOHC - Snapped Crank - need new motor

    They snap right behind the balancer at the end of the keyway. They tend to fail by 100K miles, If they make that then they are usually good to go. When I did some research I was alarmed that they all are exactly the same break! I'd say a quality issue for sure.

    The new set is two pieces. A metal ring with a internal seal and a rubber seal. I'm guessing based on the above I press on the metal ring first and then the rubber seal after. So metal ring is up against the raised part of the cv side and the second one - rubber faces the splines end...
