    tranny fluid replace and flush

I bought my XL with 49k miles on it and didn't change the tranny fluid until 85k. I had a local Texaco station change it. They connected into the cooler lines at the radiator, both in and out, and pumped new fluid in and scavenged the old brown fluid until the color changed back to bright red...

    Are Explorer auto trannys bad?

Of those of you who have rebuilt your trannies, who did the work and what did you pay? My tranny was fine until I changed the fluid at 74k. By 80k the first gear band was slipping when first put into gear. Now that I must do an engine I am also doing the tranny and want to know what my options...

    92 4.0 v6 engine replacement

    92 4.0 v6 engine replacement

:shoot: Thanks for the web site. The information is very interesting and has lead me to think that buying a junk yard replacement is not in my best interest. For that matter, buying another 4.0 v6 is not really a good choice at all. Too bad the v8 swap is so expensive.:D

    92 4.0 v6 engine replacement

My 92 XL lost its cool (cracked head or head gasket) and pretty much trashed its insides (bearings, pushrods and rocker arms and probably mains as well). I have been told that I need to stick with a 91 or 92 engine in order to remain plug-n-play. Is this true or can I use most any Ford 4.0 v6...
