Problem solved. I got an ABS wheel sensor from a junk yard from a 97 Mercury Mountaineer and it works. No more ABS light.

Where is the a/c relay? The low pressure side shows a steady 40 psi.

Well, I took the door panel apart, added a spring to the tension rod and it is good as new. For $1.10 this is one of the cheapest fixes yet. Thanks for the information. Total time for the fix was less than an hour.

How do I add the springs and where can I get them?

That part is listed for the 98 Explorer but is not listed for the 96 or 97. Ford told me that the part is the same for the 96 and 97 and the part number changes for a 98 and above. Do you know if this part will work on a 96?

Does the oil pan need to be removed to replace the front timing chain cover gasket on a 96 Explorer 4.0L V6? Can the oil pan be taken off of the engine without removing the engine from the vehicle?
