2000 ford explorer blend door actuator

I'll dust off a year-old thread! Especially since there seems to be a great amount of knowledge on the topic. I have a 99 EB with the EAC. The previous owner removed the blend door actuator when it went bad and rigged it with a wire to stay open or closed. I bought a replacement actuator, but...

    98 Explorer Cylinder #3 Misfire

That's what I was afraid of was a valve problem. It was at around 150 on the compression test.

    98 Explorer Cylinder #3 Misfire

It's pretty consistently blowing it away and sucking it back in.

    98 Explorer Cylinder #3 Misfire

No worries! I appreciate all of the help. I realize this is a trial and error problem. I pulled the #3 plug after I ran it for a bit and the electrode looks dry, however the threads had gas on them.

    98 Explorer Cylinder #3 Misfire

Well, here's the latest on this adventure. After having everyone in Northern Virginia try to sell me the incorrect injector, I finally got the right one. I should have just gone to Rock Auto in the first place. Even with express shipping I paid a lot less and got a Motorcraft injector. Put it...

    98 Explorer Cylinder #3 Misfire

Yeah, the one in your link looks like the one they sold me. I ordered the correct one last night and it should be in this morning. Then I get the fun of taking the top half apart all over again!

I have the sneaking suspicion that they sold me the wrong injector... And it was SO easy taking it all apart to get to the injectors!

    98 Explorer Cylinder #3 Misfire

I'll have to check to see if it's clicking. I'm going to run over to Autozone and get eh "noid light" kit and try that as well. The injector in the Amazon link is identical to the one I took out.

    98 Explorer Cylinder #3 Misfire

The old ones are a reddish brown color. The new one from Napa was a whiteish color.

    98 Explorer Cylinder #3 Misfire

Thanks, Jon! It feels like a constant miss. Even with the new plug and wire there was no change in performance. The only thing I did notice is that the plug almost looks like it doesn't have any fuel on it.

    98 Explorer Cylinder #3 Misfire

Good morning, I have a 98 with the 4.0 OHV, and I have been having problems with the #3 cylinder not firing properly. I am getting a P0303 code on my scanner. I have been consulting with my shade tree mechanic and he gave me a list of things to try, and none have worked. I tried a new plug...

    Loud noise from front end!!

I had a noise in the front end of mine that sounding like I had mud tires. It ended up being the wheel bearings on the left side. Replaced the hub assembly and it was fine. Another thing you can try is to see if the noise changes at all when you make a turn. If it goes away when you turn to the...

Problem with the rear wiper motor.

Yeah I have the problem with the wiper not making contact with the glass. Is this fixable, or is the rear wiper there for decoration now?!
