You have to use something strong to hold it in the down position. I used a wire close hanger and wrapped it around the bolts holding the center council down. You could also use a zip tie but it has to be something strong that will hold it down when you drive over rough roads. Good luck

look at the very last picture. that arm coming from the side of the box is part of the blend door. you can move that arm if you want and it will turn the air to hot , cold etc... if you turn it all the way down...

are you trying to replace the actuator just to get heat? because if so there is an easier way to get heat without replacing the actuator. There is a lever located directly on the passenger side of vents that you can pull down to give you heat. I will post a really great diagram on how...
