Ok. Any improvements between the two motors? I was gonna get a new one from Jasper to drop in it but a friend said he can pun a newer 4.0 in there and save like $700

i have a 2000 explorer and it has a seized motor and i have a guy who can put a 4.0 from an 06 explorer. has anyone done it? are there any differences between the older 4.0 and the new? thanks for any help

thanks for the link, mine looks similar to the sic but i dont have the screw, i have a little black piece of plastic thats permanent, not adjustable, but what i did is where it curves and hits the screw in the pic, i just rapped tape around it to space it out a little bit, (if that makes sense)

all fixed, its rigged but it will work for now, the throttle body has a stopper on it where the throttle rests at when not pressing the accelerator, i just rapped some duct take around the stopper to give it a little space and now it idles at 800-900 rpm. but like i said it will work for now...

how do i make it idle higher? its a 98 eddie bauer explorer 4.0 SOHC i bought a h/o alternator but it sits at 11.8v at idle, but when i bring it up to 600-800 rpm it kicks right up to 14.8. so instead of sending it back to get re-tuned i was wondering if theres something i can do to up the...
