sounds serious rick, i have new heads and all new pistons, less than 10000 miles n them, im also using synthetic oil. ideas? thanks

Had engine totally rebuilt, I doubt it is bad rings, could be a bad gasket, I had bad information when I put back wires, wrong firing order, lots of backfire, thinking I could have blown the gasket then, possible? And thanks for all your help......any idea how much to have gasket replaced? Or...

Looked at it, theres oil on threads, but, plug itself looks good, could this be causing my pinging in overdrive also? I'm not losing any coolant, but oil loss is a concern.....serious problem? hard to replace?

What would cause this, replaced PVC valve, didn't seem to help much, I appear to losing about a quart of oil every 1000 miles or so, can not see any leaking spots.

Can someone please tell me where the IAT is in a 1991 Explorer? I looked at pic in Haynes, still can't gigure it out. My MAS tubing doesn't seem to be the one in the picture. Still trying to get rid of pinging while accelerating in OD.....Thanks

My ex wont start after driving for more than 5 minutes, starts up fine after it cools down, mechanic told me it was the crank position sensor? Any ideas?

91' pinging.....doe's this model year have a knock sensor, and if so, where is it located? Does it more in overdrive, as opposed to Drive, but still does it and more when going up a hill or into strong headwind. Between 55 and 75 miles per hour, any suggestions?

Rhett, thanks for the input, where is the O2 sensor located? Is it hard to replace? My next step is to take it to a shope with a diagnostic machine, although I am not getting a "check engine" light. Once again thanks.

I have replaced IAC, starter, tps, temperture sensor, battery, only happens after driving for longer than 5 minutes, let it set for a couple of hours and it starts fine.
