Bite the bullet and try the rebuild myself?

My new to me 95 Explorer shakes and shutters in reverse. Seem to be worse as I am going back up a small incline. Dont tell me what I dont wanna hear that the clutches in the tranny are slipping or toast. Thanks in advance.

96 Explorer, 4.0, shutters when I back up like slipping clutches in the trans. Any advice or help fixes? Thanks.

70 is good, not just the high temp, but 70 for a few hours with no moisture overnight (or garaged) is best. If you are using rattle can, its pretty forgiving.

When I move the knob it does nothing. Just blows thru the vents on the top of the dash. Haven't taken it apart yet, but wanted to know if someone know the most likely fix for this so I can get parts before I tear it all apart. Thanks in advance.

Bought a real clean 95 Explorer with an engine tick for 400 bux. The repair shop I got it from thot it had a bad lifter. Going to order my rockers and push rods from Delta cams next week. Hope that fixes it.

Yeah it will hurt the current situation. You will break the bolt off in the end of the crankshaft.

What is the low down with the guides and why does it sound exactly like a lifter?

Whats up with the timing chain guides? My 4.0 makes a tick like a failed lifter.
