i had the same issue and yes take the motor off the t case and take it apart and clean it but be careful of the springs inside. there is a complete post on how to do this and it took me about 40 mins to fix. 4x4 is still workin fine.

i had the exact same thing happen to me, lost the electrode, truck runs with a miss now, after a comp test, 150 in all 5 30 in the other. exaust valve is our best guess on my truck. good luck bud ps i am looking for a stick of dynomite lol

no not yet, i was goin to a buds house thats a mech but he is about 1 hr away i was goin to bring some wires with me there also and get the engine compression checked.

i have a read out here and they said it was #3 cyl and the plug wires shows me that #6 cyl is at 7.5, i wonder if that too is doing the miss or helping it.

i am unsure as to the make,the plug was oil fouled as well but that could be due to none fire. the other plugs looked burned as well at the elect end but the 1 plug was gone, not the end of the plug but the center of it. i was thinkin it just burned off due to age but???

hi all been a while since i have been here always been tons of help and lookin for more. there was a post with regards to the transfer case shifting motor_electronic 4wd. last year i found the post, removed the motor and cleaned the armatuer and bingo we had 4wd instantly. all was workin good...

my a/c would engage then disengage and it isin't on....is this normal? i thought there was something wrong so i have unplugged it, should i leave it plugged in? dunno just seems weird to me, it won't engage for long but seems to do it lots.

running reg gas, 87 octane, it pings when in overdrive and i step on it a little. always thought it was due to lower octane, is this true or is something else happening?

well thanks........i have owned the truck for a couple of years but i have never done the rear end fluid or front fluids. it has been parked for 7 mos but i have now got it back on the road again. where i live gets cold.................like 2 days ago the temp was -37c with the wind chill...

impossible........it is in my driveway approx 7 feet from my door in a very quiet neighbourhood....................although i never thought of the alarm.maybe that locked it????? aftermarket viper alarm...........hmmmmmmmm still might need a priest lol :)

ok so where are the belts in these things lol ....... this has just started happening and it is a squeaking noise, kinda the same pitch as a belt but i have ruled out the fan belt cuz when i am not moving and rev it up no noise, only when i am in 4wd, when i take it out it goes away. anyone...

thanks all for the input but.................i am 99.9% sure that i was no where near the lock button.....i was standing outside the x....started it....turned up the heater fan and closed the door. then i was locked out when i returned.....HEY........maybe it needs a priest lol jk. again...

not sure if it is the hubs thats your prob i haven't changed mine yet but the t/c motor was apparent just as described from many other peeps. 1 hr to fix and easy too good luck

i had the same prob, it sounds like the t/c motor is not shifting. there are post's in here about how to fix it. i did it and mine is working great. Dead Link Removed give that a look at and see if it is similar. it was a easy fix for the 500 bucks ford wants as a replacement.

i have a after market alarm in my 92 x, when i disconnect the battery and hook it up again it seems to cause chaos with the alarm, its confused. check under the dash for a switch, with the truck off, push in the switch and push the arm button at the same time. that seems to reset mine.

when i first start the truck in the am and it is cold out, there is a little a/f on the driveway but as the truck warms up it stops. is it a good i dea to put something like barrs leaks or some other sealant in the rad for a leak like this? i think it is coming from the seam. scott

when i put the truck in gear it locks....it has done it to me before...not all the time either. today i was outside the truck when i started it and just closed the door, didn't touch anything. so because it locks when it goes into gear i assume that there is auto locks, would be nice to disable...

there is a way to disable that??? great...no keyless entry tho....cool i will look into that thanks

so it is really cold this am, go out to warm up truck close door come back to find all the doors are locked but i didn't lock them.....anyone have this prob and how did you deal with it besides carrying a second key?

well isin't that somewhat useless? Is that the draw back of auto hubs? So if i had manuals in here then i could go back and forth no problems i assume? With the hub's locked of course, But autos you can't?

92 x auto hubs.....i was having a prob with the transfer case moter but i resolved that, I was wondering can you not shift on the fly with this system? When i am in 4wd and push the button it comes out of 4wd fine when i push the button again....nothing happens....maybe holding it in longer...
