2011 Ford Explorer!
I tried building my own on line and it was a no go, but good point, before giving up I will go see my dealer and ask them if I can get a non My Touch model with the options I want. Thanks ! I would still be interested in hearing from folks who have lived with the current My Touch system for a...- Dexplorer

2011 Ford Explorer!
Ford My Touch and go I am now waffling on the prospect of buying a 2011 Ford Explorer after sitting in a model with the My Touch system and reading all of the issues/ complaints on the MyFord Edge forum and consumer reports. I love the exterior design, the vehicle fully meets all of my needs...- Dexplorer

2011 Ford Explorer!
As a former Dodge owner I know that my 2000 Dakota RT interior was really cheap and a lot of stuff ended up breaking. I had constant front end squeak and rattle issues due to a basic faulty design, I was really impressed with the 2011 Ex interior , and overall fit and finish. Has Dodge...- Dexplorer

6' and I did not encounter any ergo issues on my test drive , and I fiddled around with the steering wheel and seat adjustments a bit, and hopped in the passenger seat for part of the drive as well. Ingress / Egress were totally fine.- Dexplorer

I am 6' and it did not seem at all claustrophobic on my test drive, then again my daily driver currently is a Lotus Elise.... but I have owned several trucks and the Explorer interior was amazing, very spacious and I did not feel like the windows were too high Forget about just sitting in...- Dexplorer

I think that is a very 1950s marketing mentality, I guess it still kind of works for fast food, or mom and pop places . But companies like Apple have proven time and again, if you research what people don't have yet, design an incredible product that fills a niche and tell people they want it...- Dexplorer

Has anybody seen what octane gas the 2011 takes 87 or 91 (92 outside of cali ) ? It would be great if it took regular old 87! Got to test drive the most basic entry level model out in Palm Springs briefly and I must say I was mighty impressed with the road handling, turning radius. I am...- Dexplorer

I have had all of my questions answered here so far, also having worked for a very large high profile computer company , I can tell you that as a representative of the company you are sometimes limited to what you can say or divulge on forums. Every response has to be pretty well thought out...- Dexplorer

Just to chime in, as I mentioned my off road use will be dirt roads, desert sand, maybe mountain roads in snow. I don't need to go rock crawling or drive through rivers or swamps. And if I did I probably would not do those things in a brand new 2011 $35,000 SUV ! I would buy a beat up old lifted...- Dexplorer

2011 Ford Explorer!
It looks like a 2011 Explorer might be in my future! I was getting ready to purchase a 2011 VW Touareg TDI, they tow +7000 lbs, are very quick and nimble and get 28mpg. But VW set the price point way way too high at $48K for a VW SUV, when they sell the Audi Q5 for less and the Porsche Cayenne...- Dexplorer
