How to: New Forscan Update Allows Module Programming
Got the double honk taken away. It's a little disorienting at first. Can't seem to figure out the climate control in the right screen. I remember it being in our 2011 XLT.- TxRanger351w

2nd row Buckets to Bench Seat?
So, I can't remember how our 2011 was setup. I know we didn't have the push button on the panel that automatically flips them forward. You're saying just unbolt the frame from the buckets and then put a 60/40 in? If so, I need to start looking for people who want to trade. I'll gladly go over to...- TxRanger351w

2nd row Buckets to Bench Seat?
Did you ever get any further on this? I'd be interested in seeing what the mounting hardware looks like. Also, does the 60 seat slide forward or tilt forward like the buckets? We have a 2014 Limited with 2nd row buckets and the inflatable belts. It's hard to give rides to anyone because our...- TxRanger351w

:-D Thank you, but I stopped running those on my 90's model trucks. I did like the non-BLIS mirrors with the built-in convex setup. Wish they would do that WITH BLIS.- TxRanger351w

Which mirror button, and mine doesn't tilt at all when going into reverse. I have all 3 memory spots programmed on ours (1 - Wife, 2 - Me, 3 - All back / open) My Acadia did this automatically and it was a great feature. The high belt-line and rake of the Explorer leaves a blind spot down low...- TxRanger351w

How to: New Forscan Update Allows Module Programming
So fired up the ol' Surface and decided to play around in the Super Duty and Explorer. On the Explorer, I wanted to disable the double honk, and I wanted to enable the Climate controls in the right IPC. However, I'm missing all of these particular lines Door Close Double Horn Honk (Engine...- TxRanger351w

60,000 Mile Maintenance & Goodies
That's the problem, I kept coming across things for the Sport. Google results are Sport. 60,000 Mile Maintenance & Goodies
Rapidly approaching the 60k mark in our 2014 Limited. We never made it far enough in our 2011 to worry about brakes, struts/shocks, etc. I'd like to go ahead and do some minor enhancements to the brakes, suspension and engine/exhaust all at once. Are there any reputable vendors with...- TxRanger351w

Suspension differences - 2017 Sport/Platinum vs. XLT/Limited
I assume this is true for 2011 - 2018 models since there's only been a cosmetic redesign. That being said, is it just a matter of ordering the springs and struts to get a "sport" suspension on a 14 LTD?- TxRanger351w

Tunes for the N/A 3.5L Explorers
I guess my question is this - if it's truly a customized tune, I should probably do the intake and exhaust beforehand so that they can write the tune to account for the increased airflow. Tunes for the N/A 3.5L Explorers
I've heard/read the same and for the most part concur. Had I not been on a 500 mile trip and run both directions in similar conditions (I'm a cruise control fanatic), I would completely believe that it's a placebo. It's not a huge gain, just mild. Tunes for the N/A 3.5L Explorers
2014 N/A 3.5 V6 FWD Here come the questions: I'm seeing that there are different tuning profiles for different octane ratings. Are all of these loaded at once, and the ECM/Tune does the rest? Or could I only run 92/93 on that file? I usually run 87 day-to-day, with 93 going in for long trips...- TxRanger351w

PedalMAX
The last time I looked at Livernois they weren't tuning the NA engine, but I see now they have a 31HP file. Is that claimed at the wheel or at the crank? I don't know that $550 for 31HP at the crank is a worthwhile investment from my situation.- TxRanger351w

What years (approximately) are the versions? I.e. if I have a 2014 that's never been updated what would I have? I'm not seeing the actual BCM settings you're referencing in the spreadsheet. Actually, not seeing much at all in there. I did enable the EQ settings, nav in motion, tried to set the parking lamps as DRL, but that didn't work. Going to do bambi mode next.- TxRanger351w

This has started happening on our 2014. It's not as high pitched or consistent as it was on our early build 2011, but it's definitely the passenger side A-pillar in cross-wind situations.- TxRanger351w

From my understanding, there is a warranty on the part and labor itself. It may only be a year, though. You'd need to check with the dealer. This was told to me in regards to a transmission issue on my Super Duty.- TxRanger351w

You may be able to get them repaired through a local interior shop. I'm sure our other panels will start peeling back in the future. 2014 ford explorer limited chargers!
I think I may hold off. I know it's not going to be night-and-day like the tuning in my diesel, but that's not a lot of gain for the money down. I suppose it makes sense, these NA 3.5 aren't exactly meant to push a lot of power.- TxRanger351w

Yes, right at the top on the inside. I don't have a pic at the moment, left the car at the wife's work and picked up my truck. I'll see if I can get one later. But the skin has basically just come loose from the underlying structure of the panel.- TxRanger351w

2014 ford explorer limited chargers!
Looks like a bout $550 for the tuner and package? Are their claimed gains on 93 octane? Are there other options? The 3.5 NA is a grunt. Throttle response is worse than my 6.7 Power Stroke...that could be because I'm not exactly "stock."- TxRanger351w

Been a while. The wife's 2014 Limited has an issue with the door panel separating / peeling at the top. It's like the glue has given out. Then there's your answer. You're "clipping." The transient peaks of a dynamic, high intensity sound, not only take a burst of additional power, but also can put a hurting on the speaker. These systems are engineered to sound great in the see vehicles, but not to sound great to the neighbors. If...- TxRanger351w

Little bit of Buyers Remorse....
While I imagine that a driver accustomed to a higher power vehicle would find the 3.5 v6 in the Explorer lacking, I'd like to throw my 2 cents in: We had a 2011 Explorer that we traded in at 36,000 miles. We got into a 2013 Acadia with a 3.7l V6 and "more" power. Compared to the Explorer, the...- TxRanger351w
