Correct, the hazards will not flash on the IC or on the exterior. But the left turn signal works fine.

My CEL just came on after having the head gaskets replaced. Considering coolant was leaked into the cat and the truck has 226k miles on it, would it be safe to say that the cat is bad and needs replaced? I took the truck to Adavanced and the code was P0420. Thanks in advance for your help.

Well the deed is done. New gaskets and spark plugs. Heads came back with no cracks. Interesting though that there were three different types of spark plugs in the motor. Mechanic thinks the engine might not be the original and everything was cleaner that what he thought a 225K engine would...

While the guy is replacing the head gaskets, is there anything else worth working on while he's that far into the engine? He is having the heads shipped off to be tested for leaks, keep my fingers crossed on that?

Just bought a 96 Explorer XLT with the 4.0 L. It has 225,000 miles on the motor but still runs good. Any suggestions on oil type. The guy i bought it from used castorol 10w30.
