    I have a 99 XLT V6 was up in North Ga Going down steap hills put in low gear and it was like I had it out of gear. Had to use brakes too much. Going up hills low gear would work. Any ideas Danny

    Coolant leak

    Chris Thanks for the imfo. I just came in from underneath the truck. Found a leaky freeze plug above the starter. Can't find anymore wet spots anywhere else. Hope that is the problem. Thanks for your help:)

    I have a coolant leak that runs down the side of the starter housing. Is there a freeze plug up above the starter that could be leaking. 99XLT 4.0. If so got any idea the cost to repair:(
