    2010 Escape, Rear liftgate won't open ?

    ptepe, all advise above was great. I popped out the actuator motor and noticed that its gear was fixed onto a smooth "stem", whereas the motor i bought had a stem with threads which could apparently accept a gear. couldn't get the gear off the old motor easily; can't imagine it would fit anyhow...
