    My mechanic said it burnt a piston. Also a sensor died and it was blowing really hot air through the vents before this happened. I don't know if the two are related or why they would be but that is what happened. I really need to figure out what to do and cannot find any engine...

    Need help with 1997 VIN X Explorer

    Hi. My motor just blew up in my 1997 VIN X. It only had 87k on it :( I am in the process of looking for another 4.0 OHC motor but am having a hard time finding one from a 1997. Are there any other years that will fit? My mechanic really doesn't want to swap or modify the harness at all...
