Wheel alignment was also checked since it can also cause the same symptoms, that's what forums say about vibrate at particular speeds. But mine disappeared after the driveshaft was fixed by a merc mechanic.
I'm no expert really so I can just type here what Haynes Manual says (I though we have the same problem initially)
If vibration decreases or eliminated when the trans is in a different gear at the same engine speed
1. Bent or dented driveshaft
2. Undercoating or built-up dirt etc on the...
Is it a whining sound? Or is it really vibration. If it is whining it is common on 02-05 Ford Explorers. TSB released a guide for repairing this axle whine kit. Not sure if we have the same issue (I don't feel any vibration)
But I'm already looking where to order that axle whine repair kit...
I was wondering why one of our 2005 Ford Explorer XLT's heater core tubes doesn't have a hose and I came across this thread while research. Maybe the Explorers sent here (in the Philippines) were done that way since we don't need heaters here (just like in Arizona)
