Cool. Thanks for the info. With it and some more digging on here I think I'll be ready to tackle this. Now to track down a donor vehicle and get its engine out.

Like I said in the op, it's my wife's DD so low range and off road is not going to happen, so I the balance shaft shouldn't necessarily be something I'm holding out for. But, just for curiosity how do you tell if it's got a balance shaft or not?
