Tranny shifts early and late every once and a while. Wanted to check color and smell of fluid.
I was shocked to learn that I have a sealed tranny. I 'm debating on getting it serviced. I bought it a couple of months ago with 104K on the speedo.
Some research tells me the problem could be a couple of things. One being the 4 x 4 control module or the shift motor. Is there a way to check the module being that's the easiest to get to and the least expensive?
I recently purchased a 04 Explorer XLT 4x4 with 104K. I know in time I'll have a lot of questions that I hope you all can help me with. And i hope in time I can help point someone in the right direction. The Explorer and I reside in Fort Myers, FL.
