    Part Identification

There is a rather hefty vacuum line, driver's side, that has what appears to be a 'vacuum diaphragm'. The problem - It is making a hissing sound which... pretty clearly says that it has a leak. Here's a pic: I've been through my Haynes manual and called local parts stores but they...

Here we go again - no fuel

Cleaned each plug socket and the plugs/relays. Replaced them (they went in far more smoothly) and she's running like a champ. I did accidentally displace a vacuum hose and panicked for a moment but got that back in order, lol. Thanks again for the help :) Mike

That was my view as well. Just wanted to be sure. Thanks.

Here we go again - no fuel

The bottom and inside of the Power Distribution Box is clean however, the plug slots for the Fuel Pump Relay switch and EEC, etc. look a little weathered. I have a can of spray used to clean the Air Intake Sensor... you basically spray it on the element and it cleans before evaporating. Would...

Here we go again - no fuel

Thought I had it all fixed. My '93 Explorer XLT once again did the dry spell... the fuel pump did not activate upon turning the key. Previously, I had replaced the filter and the Fuel Pump Relay. It ran fine... perfectly until about 2pm when sitting in the exact same spot where it happened...

'93 Explorer XLT - Heater Core

Amazing. The old one popped right out and the new one dropped right in. Have a heater core again come winter, lol. If only ALL heater cores were this easy! Thanks again for the help!

'93 Explorer XLT - Heater Core

'93 Explorer XLT - Heater Core

With the help of member mekelly, I was able to (finally) solve the issue with my fuel line failure. Now, with a few extra bucks leftover (I had set aside for replacing the entire gas tank), I am going to replace my heater core. The heater core blew out in 2011 when she was still my step-son's...

'93 Exploerer XLT - Fuel Line Problems

Thanks... getting to know even an older model with all the electronics is something of a pain at times. My first car was a 1968 Ford Fairliane 500 3-speed (column) 2dr with a 289cid. I got it when I was in the Army stationed at Fort Gordon in Augusta in the early '70s. Had just under 60,000...

'93 Exploerer XLT - Fuel Line Problems

Just went to AZ and got a $12 Fuel Pump Relay Switch... basically a 5-prong plug that goes in the fuse panel under the hood. I turned the key to ON, could actually hear the fuel pump as it pressurized the line and it turned right over. New problem - I don't know now whether to be happy or...

'93 Exploerer XLT - Fuel Line Problems

mekelly - Thanks for the reply. I'm getting zero gas pressure in the line coming up to the engine. I'm going to cycle back now to the filter and see if the incoming line there is getting any. Thanks for the reply :) Mike

'93 Exploerer XLT - Fuel Line Problems

This all began a week ago. I was in a parking lot about to drive home when my '93 XLT acted like it was out of gas. The gas gauge has never worked since I got her so my mileage available is usually a matter of odometer reading and math. According to that, I still had at least 50 miles...
