    Shop says my explorer is finished, is this true?!

    I agree. They probably cracked the PVC box when they did the injectors. I had the same problem with my 4.0 SOHC.

    Yes. If you have a vapor lock problem it must have been modified from stock. This engine comes with fuel injection which eliminated vapor lock. Why do you think it has vapor lock?

    Any idea what is making this noise on my 1998 v8?

    Looks like a oil pump or the pickup tube is leaking allowing air to be sucked up at low RPM. Noise sounds like it is running low on oil and the rods rattling. The oil gauge on the dash is an on off. At the very least I would have the oil pan pulled off and replace the oil pump and pickup tube.

    Thoughts on SOHC not being able to idle with low gas tank level.

    G Got a 2000 with SOHC 4.0 and had the same issue.Turned out to be the fuel pump.

    2000 XLT and 2001 Explorer EB with broken seat tracks!

    I have broken drivers side seat tracks in both my 2000 XLT and 2001 5.0 Eddie B version. Anybody got a line on replacement tracks or a good fix?
