    2007 Explorer 4.6L no spark

Finally figured out the issue with the Explorer, a wire from the fuse box to the PCM was damaged. After running a bypass wire (instead of tearing into the harness), the Explorer now runs again! Thank you to everyone (especially Bill) for the help! -Jim

    2007 Explorer 4.6L no spark

I have not had a chance to re-check the voltage to the CKP yet, but the old CKP I replaced measured at 341 ohms so it looks like it is still good & not what was causing the problem. I will pull out the replacement CKP tomorrow & measure the resistance along with the voltage to the CKP plug &...

    2007 Explorer 4.6L no spark

Yes you do have to move the AC compressor to replace the crank sensor, & I agree it is a pain! I did re-seat the plug & made sure it is fully connected. I also thoroughly inspected the engine bay & wiring & did not see any signs of mice (droppings, nest, etc.) or any chewed or damaged wiring...

    2007 Explorer 4.6L no spark

Bill, below are my responses (in red) to your questions: 1) Disconnect TPS harness and check voltage to middle 2 wires with key on, engine off. Advise results. 4.95V 2) Disconnect Crank sensor harness and check voltage to each wire with key on, engine off. Advise results. I could not get a...

    2007 Explorer 4.6L no spark

I appreciate your efforts in helping me solve this, it appears we are looking at different books. My 2007 owners manual has the under-hood fuse panel info. on pages 286-288. The relays listed go from 46A to 49 & omit 47 & 48. The PCM relay is #55A & I tried swapping it with the front wiper...

There is no power to the coils. The PCM relay on this vehicle is #55A in the under-hood fuse panel, is that the one you are referring to?

    2007 Explorer 4.6L no spark

Thanks for the info Bill, however I already checked that fuse & it looked good. I also replaced that fuse with a new one just in case there was something wrong with it that I couldn't see, & no change. I appreciate everyone's input so far, keep the ideas coming! Thanks -Jim

There were no codes present because the battery had been disconnected. -Jim

    2007 Explorer 4.6L no spark

No aftermarket remote start or alarm but I live in the country so I know there are mice around, I'll make sure I look over the wiring really closely. Thanks! -Jim

    2007 Explorer 4.6L no spark

It cranks over fine, I only disconnected the battery out of habit, I do it with all of my vehicles when I don't know when I will be driving them again. I did try resetting the inertia switch, however the fuel pump & injectors are working & I think the inertia switch would kill those? I also...

    2007 Explorer 4.6L no spark

Thanks for the replies so far. There are no codes, I did hook it up to a code reader but I disconnected the battery when I parked it last because I knew it would be sitting (this is not my main vehicle), so if there were codes they are gone now. The truck was running perfectly when parked, no...

    2007 Explorer 4.6L no spark

I have confirmed that there is no spark out of any of the coils, & no signal to the plugs going to the coils. Truck was running perfectly before being parked & nothing was changed or done prior to the no spark condition.

    2007 Explorer 4.6L no spark

I have a 2007 Explorer XLT with a 4.6L & it currently has no spark, so I am looking for ideas on what to check next. Here is an overview of the problem & what I have done so far: -Problem started after sitting for 2 weeks during severe cold weather, battery was disconnected during this time so...
