In need of braided fuel line 97 4.0L SOHC :-(

I bought the kit just as shown, and added another hose clamp. I checked the other smooth type hose clamps for fuel injection lines and they seemed like they wouldn't tighten small enough. As you mentioned, there was not a problem with the braided lines coming through the above clamps. Yes...

In need of braided fuel line 97 4.0L SOHC :-(

I did :D  I got mine at Home Depot, but you can do a Google seacrh for Hose splicer barb and gain all sorts of choices. Keep in mind that 1/4" a is a bit too big, as I intially tried to jam it in w/o shaving and it started to split the inner liner :( I used my beltsander to...

In need of braided fuel line 97 4.0L SOHC :-(

Hi, Well I haven't found these darn lines for under $415.00, therefore I spliced the bloody thing with 1/4 tube splicer that is made for an airhose; bought at Home Depot for $2.99.. I had to use a belt sander to take off 1/32 or so of the high edges off both sides of the splicer, as it was...

In need of braided fuel line 97 4.0L SOHC :-(

Thanks for the link to Torre. I would love to get the line/s from a junked Explorer, but I have called every single junkyard in my phone book and was told they did not have them. Somewhere there has to be a blown Explorer or otherwise junked one with the lines still intact, but I have yet to...

In need of braided fuel line 97 4.0L SOHC :-(

Details here I used the bracket accidently and the line now needs replaced. No doubt I would like to find a used one; as noted above, the new one is a whopping $542.00 from the dealer and part stores do not carry it... :thumbdwn:

In need of braided fuel line 97 4.0L SOHC :-(

Thanks for the suggestions, no doubt it is very odd that using a metal bracket as a ground for jump starting could heat up the fuel line until it punctures, but alas, it will. Looking through the various recalls for '97 4.0L Explorers it says that the fix for this was simply to put a warning...

In need of braided fuel line 97 4.0L SOHC :-(

Hi all, I have been reading this forum for a while now and must say it is an excellent source of information. Thank you! Well I screwed up jump starting a co-worker w/ my Explorer, and therefore need that bloody $542.00 PTFE braided fuel line that connects to the injection rail. I know that...
