I took my Explorer into Ford and they determined the leak is from the front timing cover, which they're going to repair under the powertrain warranty. They will also cover the cost of a rental vehicle which is nice! From chatting with the service advisor it sounds like a fairly extensive repair.

Thanks for the info everyone! Glad to hear that it might be covered under the powertrain warranty. For now I've wiped the area clean and will keep an eye on it until the next oil change. If it's still present at that time I will be taking it into the dealer.

Thanks for the feedback. I went ahead and wiped it down and will keep an eye on it. It's not only dirty, but also very greasy with a bit of visible oil so it does appear to be a leak from somewhere. Probably a slow leak at best.

Yes it appears to be 2 5/8", but all the caps for sale online mention that size fitting older Explorers or other models. Wasn't sure if any 2 5/8" cap will fit a '17 Sport model.

Does anyone happen to know the part number or size of the center caps on the 20" sport wheels? I'd like to try and find some replacements in black. There are several options on eBay but I'm not sure what would be the correct fit.

I'm considering painting the wheels on my '17 Sport to match the black exterior. It appears there are some local companies in my area that can do this. Has anyone had their wheels painted or powder-coated and how did they turn out?

I had the same question a week ago. Use the arrow buttons on the right side of the steering wheel with the Bluetooth phone controls.

I also feel a bit of a slight pressure change when driving my 2017 Sport. Around 60mph it seems like there’s a slight “shudder” noise with all windows up (similar noise to rolling down one window slightly on the highway). Or maybe it’s just my imagination sincr the car seems to drive smooth...

My 2017 Sport is similar. During a test drive with the heated wheel on it didn’t feel very “warm”. The salesman says it heats in cycles, and sure enough it will cycle through various levels of heat sometimes feeling hotter than others. Haven’t noticed it too much with the seats though.

I'm currently using 87 Octane in my Sport and not getting any impressive MPG numbers. Curious what MPG others are getting and what octane you're using. Aside from keeping the tires properly inflated and driving conservatively are there any other options (tune, etc) to increase MPG?

Haven't used the cooling feature yet in my '17, but the seat backs definitely get warm in addition to the seat.

Sure enough turning off the DRL in settings, with the switch in AUTO keeps the LED signature lights on. I prefer this look instead of having the low-beam DRL's on all the time. I can understand Ford's point of view though in probably keeping them on for safety ... the signature LED's aren't as...

Thanks for the input on this. I will give it a try tomorrow. I read in some other threads that with the DRL turned OFF in settings and the lamps in AUTO that the signature LED strips won’t stay lit. But it sounds like they just might...

Is it possible to have only the LED strips active and NOT the low beam when the DRL's are activated? When I'm in park the LED strips stay lit and the low beams turn off. I would prefer to have it this way while in drive as well.

I just took my ‘17 Sport through its first car wash (temps slightly below freezing). When I got home and shut the engine off I noticed a bunch of steam venting out through the front grille (pic attached). It almost looked like my car was exhaling smoke as if it had a cigarette. Is this normal?

I just purchased a 2017 Sport and noticed this high-pitched whine noise as well only with the engine running. Glad to know it’s an easy fix for pulling the fuse, but is there a TSB issued on it yet? I’ll probably pull the fuse for now, but wondering if it’s worth taking to the dealer or not...
