    LSD question

    Just lift the rear axle and turn one wheel. If the other wheel turns in the same direction, you've got a LSD_diff. If the wheel turns the opposite direction, your lsd is either bad or non existant.

    Overheating When Accelerating

    Try checking the radiator's temperature, when the engine overheats. If the thermostat doesn't open, the radiator will be cool.

    rear air suspension

    Does the air-suspension work as designed? When putting heavy stuff in the trunk, will it remain at a constant height? Can you hear the compressor working after shutting down?

    speed limiter remove or not

    Some of the few Explorers in Europe don't have the speed-limiter. As of 99 brakes were improved and the limiter removed. My 2000 Explorer's max. speed is 122 mph. But it's neither comfortable nor safe to drive an Explorer at those speeds, they're simply not designed for that. Explorers are well...

    Top Speed ?

    The European versions of the X were not governed as of 99. Max speed for the 4.0 SOHC is 122 mph. Brakes were improved for the ungoverned versions. I tried it several times, it's definitely not a safe ride at speeds of more than 100 mph.
