    4.0 Ranger timing chain replaced now excessive vibrations occur particularly at idle

    I will check the injector plugs. I'm going to go get new spark plugs and wires for it. When I disconnect plug 4 and 5 from the distributor the motor doesn't run any worse. I might have damaged those plugs pulling them off or left those injectors unplugged.

    I thought 4X4 models were supposed to have a balance shaft however this one did not. I used the OEM timing tool to make sure the timing was correct

    I thought 4X4 models were supposed to have a balance shaft however this one did not. This motor’s casset failed and the driver's side chain jumped no valves hit the pistons. When I put it back together I used the OEM timing tool to make sure the timing was correct.

    I just replaced the timing chain and all other associated parts on my 2001 ford, ranger 4X4, 4.0. When I went to start it the motor vibrated so much the steering wheel in the truck shakes.
