2000 ford explorer blend door actuator

The good news is the door is perfectly fine and the install of a new actuator is easy. Ive got another one coming to see if that works otherwise Im going to set some type of manual adjuster in there.

2000 ford explorer blend door actuator

So to update. New blend door from Dorman doesnt work. ATC wont go into Self Test or Clear mode per any of the prescribed methods. No more fighting. AC is ice cold if I hold blend door shut to the front. Does anyone have a good idea on how to implement a manual blend door control after market or...

Fuse looks good. That and the relay check was the first series of checks. Still looks good.

2000 Explorer Limited 4WD V6 AC Blows lukewarm air after 5 min

This is interesting. Pulled the glove box. What you see is a blend door actuator gear only zipped tied into full heat position. No blend door actuator. This explains why on 60F vent setting she blows only hot air. Good news is all the other system items prolly needed to be done anyway aside...

2000 ford explorer blend door actuator

Agreed. On a 10 year old vehicle 10% of the plastic breaks when you work on it. On this thing its 30%. Ordered a new main blend actuator. Will mess with it next weekend to see if its the door or the actuator. When on vent 60F it blows hot air. When I run max AC it gets cold. All blower...

2000 Explorer Limited 4WD V6 AC Blows lukewarm air after 5 min

Is it possible the blend door wasnt set to the right temp when installed? Meaning travel of the door is limited out on the wrong side and wont swing the other way?

I just put a brand new motorcraft one in. Would that show up in a code possibly?

2000 Explorer Limited 4WD V6 AC Blows lukewarm air after 5 min

Got this narrowed a bit. Compressor is working, changed heater control valve and condenser coil that had a clog. When I set it on MAX AC, air gets cold. However when I shut Max AC button off and in vent mode, air stays hot regardless of temp setting. Does this leave with with a blend door...

Checked hea Checked heater valve. Working properly. Looking at vacuum now. Might be an issue there.

2000 Explorer Limited 4WD V6 AC Blows lukewarm air after 5 min

Replaced compressor and recharged the system. Checked blend door from vent to floor to defrost. Vents change location fine. However Those blow only HOT air when temp is set at 60 or 85. When I go to max AC it eventually gets lukewarm when I set to 60. Seems like the heat is fighting the AC...
