Sync 3 and Navigation Map Updates

I spent a couple of hours doing this update yesterday (ignition on, engine off, trickle charger on battery) and got the dreaded BGMAP_ERR01 error on part 2 of the update. From everything I have read on this error, re-downloading the update files is nonsense and useless, and the Ford support...

Sync 3 and Navigation Map Updates

How did you install Sync 3.4? It says 3.0.23219 is the latest update for my 2019 Sport. Never mind, I see there are a couple of lengthy threads on this subject, although the procedure seems to vary a lot. Did you use the cyanlabs Syn3Updater method?

Sync 3 and Navigation Map Updates

Thanks Peter, There are only two purchase options, mailing a USB drive or Downloading the installer and putting it on your own USB drive. When I did the SYNC 3 update, that was also via USB, although now that I can connect to my house WiFi, SYNC can potentially update over WiFi, but I am pretty...

Sync 3 and Navigation Map Updates

I purchased a used 2019 Sport a few weeks ago to replace my 2007 Limited, and just discovered this post. After updating SYNC to the latest version, I am considering updating the NAV map version from NA 1 17 to NA 2 24. looking back through these posts, everyone says that it takes about 90...

Intermittent lack of power when transitioning between overdrive and 5th

:p There are only two roads to get to the coast from the San Jose area, and both go through the Santa Cruz mountains

Intermittent lack of power when transitioning between overdrive and 5th

Thank you for commenting! The transmission guy was pretty certain this isn't a transmission issue. It's more of a throttle issue, possibly the throttle body or one of its sensors. However, because it's hard to reproduce unless you drive very specific types of roads, and there are no diag codes...

Intermittent lack of power when transitioning between overdrive and 5th

UPDATE: Transmission shop can't reproduce but are pretty certain it's not the transmission. Ford dealer service departments are useless and charge $400 just to run diagnostics. Could it be the PCM? I was having an issue with two codes from the fuel rail sensor. Replacing the sensor didn't fix...

Intermittent lack of power when transitioning between overdrive and 5th

My 07 Limited, with the 4.6L V8, has been giving me trouble on certain kinds of driving. Around town driving doesn't see to exhibit the issue, but highway driving, where there is a lot of inclines and declines on the road is where it shows up. It seems to be most prevalent on long declines...

    PCM source?

I got a refurbished PCM from these guys for my 07 Explorer. https://arestechnologies.com/ With the V8 engine it needs to be programmed to your VIN in the vehicle. My local Ford dealer was clueless on how to do this, but the guy from ARES knows a network of remote people who know how to do it...

Source recommendations for a replacement PCM for my 2007 Explorer?

My 2007 Explorer Limited with the 4.6L V8 needs its PCM to be replaced. I can't pass California's smog test to renew my registration because a check engine light is an automatic fail. I replaced the fuel rail sensor, but that didn't solve the problem. My local Ford dealer diagnosed the problem...

2007 Explorer 4.6L Fuel Pressure Rail issue

Hello, I realize this is an older thread, but I am having the exact same issue with my 2007 Explorer. My check engine light goes on intermittently and has been doing so for quite a while. The diagnostic code is the same P0193, "Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit High Input". I have replaced the...

Can't get driver's side door panel off to replace mirror.

Nope, no push pins. everything was exactly like the video, except the 2007 Explorer has an extra pull handle with two additional screws securing the panel.

Can't get driver's side door panel off to replace mirror.

Just wanted to tell you that those two screws under the pull handle did the trick. replaced my broken mirror and all is good. Thanks again!

Can't get driver's side door panel off to replace mirror.

Thank you so much! I didn't even notice that handle was missing in the video. I will check that out after my wife gets home with the Explorer.

Can't get driver's side door panel off to replace mirror.

Sorry, I should have updated my profile. It's a 2007 Explorer Limited and the door is exactly like the one in the video. The door panel simply would not budge after removing the securing screws.

Can't get driver's side door panel off to replace mirror.

My driver's side mirror got smacked in a parking lot and needs to be replaced. I found an excellent condition used replacement and tried to follow this YouTube video to replace the mirror. www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4f0M6KFXzQ In theory, it's a pretty easy job. But, once I removed the switch...
