    Engine change question, 91EX

    91 EX, motor shot, installing 93, 4.0. I put the 91 engine wire harness on the 93 motor, am I going to have surprises after installing it? I may have to change throttle body because the 93 has a vac port that the 91 is minus. Other than that its all 93 motor, and sensors. Thanks in advance.

    near bolt in replacement eng Thanks for all the info. My trans was redone about 2 years ago and seems tight. Existing eng has cracked heads. I have a lead on another 91 with 125K that nosed into something. No eng damage. I'll know in a couple of weeks. Thanks again and I'll keep you all posted.

    I have a 91 EX, the engine is toast, with 233+k miles. I want to drive it some more. What wrecks would be a bolt in 4.0. Changing intake etc. is'nt bad but I hear there are crank, cam sensor differances in push rod 4.0's. I have access to some wrecks and have time till it warms up. Thanx in...

    water in exhaust

    No Mrshorty, plugs look normal, no water in oil, or oil in water. If intake leaked it should show on the plugs I believe. But that still sounds better than a head. I'll be there first when I get into it though. Thanx, mouse.

    Hi folks, New to this forum and my 91 Exployer, 4.0. My winter project has water out the exhaust. None in combustion chamber or oil. Compresion is 140 to 155. 130k on engine. I'm thinking a cracked head. Anybody thinking somthing better? Thanks in advance.
