    Fueling issue 2004 Explorer

I was hoping, sort of, for something along the lines of fuel vapor purge valve. The family has never really been a fan of my fill the gas tank slow suggestions, but I guess I will try that one again. I appreciate the responses, thanks for your time. Bocomo Bob

    Fueling issue 2004 Explorer

Not prepaying, pay at the pump. I'll recommend slow fill and see if that helps. I'm sure that will go over real well. I was hoping it might have been a common issue, well not really hoping...

    Fueling issue 2004 Explorer

My daughter reports to me that when she attempts to fill the gas tank it shuts off after about 3-5 gallons. She then can not get it to take more. Believe me, the tank is less than a quarter full when she goes to refill. If she drives a little bit, she then can add another 3-5 gallons before the...

    Silly question

I'll try to get a picture this evening. It is my daughter's Explorer so I do not have it with me to take a picture. I would describe it as about 6-8" long and about 4" in diameter. It has a clear tube running to it, connected, and then continuing on. It is a hard black plastic item.

    Silly question

2004 Ford Explorer 4X4 XLT Appears to be a vacuum bladder made of hard plastic that has been broken free from its support "under" the passenger side dash. My silly question would be what is the name of this "bladder"? I need to request the right thing so I can re-install it. It appears to...

    04 Explorer, Transmission ??

Unfortunately I don't have lots of information since it is my daughter's vehicle. She described the problem as she backed out of parking space. When she put it in Drive she lost braking and accelerating functions and drifted to a curb. This was in the high school parking lot. It sounds to...

    Tire pressure

I do trust tire manufactures. So what you're saying is you would run the same pressure in street tire as you would an A-T tire because of what it says on the door? If my tires said to run a maximum of 44, I would run pretty close to 40, much closer than 32 or 26. What would you run? Bocomo

    Tire pressure

I would go by what it says on the tire rather than what it says on the door. Bocomo

    Tire Monitor System

Thank you for the prompt reply My wife called me and her TPMS light turned on. I'll check the pressure and hope it goes away. Bocomo

    Tire Monitor System

If the TPMS is triggered, does it automatically reset after adjusting the tire pressure? Or do you have to have a code reader to reset it? Thank you for the information. Bocomo

    Newbie here

Yeah, I'm not worried about MPG to much, I'm just getting tired of 11.5 to 12 MPG. So if I can get up to 17 to 20 I'll be fine. I only drive about 12,000 miles per year. So by my math I should save about 340 gallons of gas a year. And at the current prices that'll be at least $680. Then...

    Newbie here

Just signed up to be a member of this forum. The reason I joined is that I am looking for information on Explorers. Currently I drive a F250 4x4. With the gas prices it is a bit more than I need. I thought I would change to an Explorer. I was hoping to get some opinions on what years were...
